Fluus Flushable Medium Pads have been designed to absorb a medium flow. Perfect for day or night use. The unique contoured shape has been designed to fit perfectly in your underwear, and the wings provide added protection to keep you feeling secure.

The super soft plant fibre topsheet provides hours of breathable comfort, and the patented fluid-locking core keeps you feeling dry and secure. Hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested, Fluus is perfect for sensitive skin or those prone to irritation.

Suitable for medium flow

Tested in our lab vs. the market-leading pad, and Fluus is 15% more absorbent. As per the name, we recommend this pad for medium flows. We will be launching products to suit more flows very soon...

Directions for use

1. Remove wing and backing papers and press firmly to underwear.

2. Wear as you would a normal pad.

3. Place pad in the toilet and flush. The wrapper and papers are also 100% flushable.

How it works

Each layer of a Fluus pad is designed with a specific purpose. The top layer is a super-soft topsheet made of plant fibres, ensuring blood can flow down but can’t come back up and the second layer provides an absorbent biodegradable core that locks in blood.
When it’s time to change your pad, put it down the toilet and flush. With Flushtec™, there’s no need for period bins. No more landfill. The water and motion of the flush quickly breaks your pad down into 3mm plant fibres.
These are filtered out at the water treatment centre, and turned into renewable energy, fertiliser and clean water.
Flushing fantastic!

Use within 3 months

We use a unique, non-toxic, water dispersible adhesive unlike conventional pads. As a naturally-derived adhesive, this means that our pads have a shelf life of 3 months. After this time, the adhesive may become less sticky. For best results, you should use within 3 months and store in a dry place away from moisture.

15% more absorbent

Our patented Flushtec® technology makes Fluus strong and absorbent, and only breaks down once fully submerged in water.

Hypoallergenic

Do you have sensitive skin? Do other pads cause you rashes and irritation? You're not alone!

Fluus pads have been independently tested for skin and vaginal sensitivity in a vegan accredited lab. We only use materials that are safe on skin.

Keep reading to see how we compare to other pads...

Tree Sap

We use a non-toxic, water dispersible adhesive on the wings and bottom of the pad. This sticks the pad to your underwear to keep it in place. All other pads on the market use a thermoplastic glue, but we favour tree sap as it's better for the environment.

Biodegradable barrier

The high absorbency of our pad comes from our biodegradable polymer core. It quickly absorbs blood and locks it in. It is 100% biodegradable and can be safely flushed.

Plant Fibres

Our super soft and breathable topsheet is made from plant fibres. It keeps you feeling dry and comfortable.

Fragrances

You will never see fragrance included in our products. Fragrance poses a high risk of irritation, and we don't believe it should ever be in period products.

Dyes + Pigments

Unlike standard period pads, we only include materials that are essential to the performance of the product, so we never use dyes or pigments in our pads.

Hot Melt Adhesive

Hot Melt Adhesives are usually plastic-based and take over 500 years to degrade. This is why we’ll never use them in our pads.

Titanium Dioxide

Titanium Dioxide is a toxin. Other period brands use it to make their products opaque, we think this is unnecessary and so don’t use it in our pads.

Polyester

Polyester is a synthetic fabric that's usually derived from petroleum. Other brands use this for absorbency, but it’s not biodegradable and can shed toxic microfibres into the environment.

Cotton

Whilst cotton is a natural resource, the sourcing and production of cotton can be both environmentally destructive and unethical. Cotton production also uses vast amounts of water and causes soil degradation. We use tree fibres instead of cotton as a sustainable and ethical alternative.

What exactly is Flushtec®?

Flushtec® is the technology that makes our pads fully flushable. We use plant fibres and natural adhesives, which makes Fluus pads strong and absorbent when you wear them, but 100% biodegradable when you flush them down the toilet.

Is it really flushable?

Great question and we're incredibly proud to say that Fluus really is safe to flush.

FlushtecⓇ, used in our pads has been tested against the following criteria and awarded the WIS 04-02-06 certificate – the official benchmark for UK flushability standards.

1) Toilet bowl clearance

2) Drainline clearance

3) Disintegration in the drain line

4) Snagging in the drain line

5) Disintegration in the sewer system

6) Settlement

7) Determination of synthetic and non-synthetic organic components

Upon successful completion of these tests, we were awarded our official certificate from the UK's Water Research Centre.

Can I flush the wrapper and peel papers too?

Yes, you can! They’re made of the same material as our pads. With Fluus, you can flush your pad, wrapper and peel papers. Welcome to guilt-free flushing!

How absorbent are Fluus Medium Pads?

Fluus Medium Pads are 15% more absorbent than Always. They have been designed for a medium flow.

If you experience a heavy flow, we will be launching Heavy Pads very soon. Sign up to our mailing list to be the first to know when they launch.

What are Fluus pads made of?

There are three parts to a Fluus pad:

01. Super-soft topsheet made of cellulose plant fibres (no plastic against your skin like mainstream pads!). Fluus is hypoallergenic and perfect for sensitive skin.

02. Patented absorbent core and barrier are made from biodegradable polymers and plant fibres.

03. Bottom sheet made from cellulose plant fibres and a non-toxic, plastic-free adhesive derived from tree sap.

Can I wear Fluus Pads for day and night?

Yes! You can wear both our Medium and Heavy Pads during the day or at night. Fluus Heavy Pads are longer in length and have larger wings, so if you prefer extra security at night we recommend opting for Heavy Pads.

Are Fluus pads suitable for sensitive skin?

Fluus pads have been independently tested for skin and vaginal sensitivity (in the same vegan lab used by LUSH!)

The materials we use are hypoallergenic and perfect for sensitive skin. If you are prone to thrush or experience discomfort from other pads, we recommend giving Fluus a go.

Are Fluus pads safe for oceans and aquatic life?

Yes. They are microplastic free and completely non-toxic, so will never pollute waterways or harm aquatic life.

Can I also throw Fluus pads in the bin?

We’d rather you didn’t. Fluus pads are designed to break down through flushing, and so a bin may not provide the right conditions for them to fully biodegrade.By flushing them, you know they will break down into clean water, renewable energy and fertiliser at your local water treatment centre.

Are Fluus pads suitable for people with sensitive skin?

Absolutely. The pad itself is made from natural plant fibers with no added fragrances, harmful chemicals or artificial materials. We’ve had incredible feedback from user trials and customers, which you can read on our website.

Are the pads suitable for vegans and vegetarians?

Yes. There are no animal products in Fluus and we never test on animals.

How often should I change my pad?

We recommend changing your pad every 4-6 hours. If you have been exercising, or on hotter days, we do recommend changing more frequently.
